Metin2 Vote4Buff: Free, Easy, Reliable Voting Rewards
Vote4Buff is metin2pserver.net's free, drop-in voting-reward system for Metin2 private servers. Players hit a vote button in-game, your client verifies the vote, and the player picks a temporary stat bonus from up to three reward pools you configure. No abusable coin economy, no scripting headaches for admins, no third-party paid plugin. It is the modern successor to Vote4Coins and ships as a copy-paste install you download from your server panel.
What Vote4Buff Is
Vote4Buff replaces the old Vote4Coins pattern (vote, receive coin, redeem coin at NPC for cash-shop items) with a cleaner contract: vote, pick a temporary bonus, get the bonus immediately, account-wide. The system removes most of the abuse vectors Vote4Coins suffered from (coin hoarding, bot-farming, NPC race conditions) while giving players a more visible, more useful reward.
It runs entirely as a client-side integration. Your server only handles the final "grant the bonus to this character" step. Vote verification, cooldown tracking, and the reward-picker UI all happen between the player's client and the metin2pserver.net API.
How It Works
The vote flow is six steps, all driven from the in-game button:
- Player clicks the Vote button inside the game.
- Their default browser opens at the server's toplist page.
- Player casts the vote on the toplist.
- Player clicks the vote-confirmation button to register the vote.
- The client-side API call to metin2pserver.net verifies the vote actually landed.
- Player picks one of up to three bonus reward pools and the bonus is applied account-wide.
The verification step is the important part: it confirms the vote came from this specific character before any reward is granted. No vote, no bonus. No clicking through the toplist without actually voting.
What's in It for Server Admins
What's in It for Players
- Three reward pools. Pick the bonus profile that suits the build (DPS, defense, utility, whatever the admin configures).
- Account-wide bonus. Vote once on any character and every alt gets the active bonus.
- Switch on the fly. Change between bonus pools between votes without losing progress or paying anything.
- Visible cooldown. The in-game UI shows exactly how long until the next vote unlocks, so no guesswork.
- Guaranteed reward. The verification step rules out the classic "I voted but never got the coin" frustration.
Why the In-House System
Several free Vote4Coins and Vote4Buff systems are floating around forums, and a handful of paid ones exist from independent developers. Our system has a few specific advantages over those:
- Direct support from the toplist team.
- Optimized for metin2pserver.net. The vote-verification API is built for our toplist's exact behaviour, not a generic protocol that needs adapting.
- Setup that just works. Public packages tend to leave the configuration as an exercise for the admin. Ours ships with sensible defaults and worked examples.
- Free, no upgrade tier. Every feature is available to every server on the toplist with no premium gate.
- Bug reports go somewhere. When something breaks, message us and a fix lands in the next release. No abandoned-developer problem.
Get Started
- Add your server to the toplist.
- Download the system bundle from your Server-Panel: click the API button, then API-Easy-Client.
- Follow the included README. The bundle ships with step-by-step install configuration instructions for every part of the system.
Vote4Buff FAQ
Is Vote4Buff really free?
Yes. Every server listed on metin2pserver.net can download and use the system for free. No premium tier, no per-vote fee, no paid features locked behind an upgrade.
What's the difference from the old Vote4Coins system?
Vote4Coins gave the player a coin item that they had to redeem at an NPC for cash-shop items. That model was abused (coin hoarding, NPC race conditions, bot farms). Vote4Buff replaces the coin with a temporary stat bonus that is granted directly and applies account-wide. Cleaner, harder to abuse, more visible to the player.
Do I need to know programming to install it?
No. The bundle is a copy-paste install. You drop the provided files into your server source, edit a config file with your server's identifiers, and rebuild. The included README walks through every step.
How does the vote verification actually prevent abuse?
The reward grant is gated on a confirmation call to the metin2pserver.net API that ties the vote to the specific character. No vote in our database means no reward in your server. Bots that click through the toplist without actually casting a real vote cannot trigger the bonus.
Can players vote on the same toplist on multiple characters?
Vote cooldown is per-account, not per-character. One vote per cooldown window. But the bonus that follows applies to every character on the account, so there is no incentive to spread votes across alts.
What if a player votes but doesn't receive the bonus?
The verification step makes this rare, but if it does happen, the in-game UI surfaces the API response so the player (and you) can see exactly what went wrong. Open a support ticket and we'll look at the logs.
Can I add my own special event reward on top of the bonus pools?
Yes. The system supports an additional event reward (an item, a currency, a buff scroll, whatever) layered on top of the regular pool selection. Configure it from the same config file as the pools.
Do players need to be logged into their character to vote?
Yes. The flow starts from the in-game Vote button. The vote is tied to that character (and therefore to the account), so the bonus can be granted to all alts on the same account afterward.
How long do bonuses last?
Configured by the server admin. Typical settings are 12 to 24 hours - matching the standard vote cooldown - so the player effectively has a permanent active bonus as long as they keep voting daily.
Where do I get help if something breaks?
Open a ticket on metin2pserver.net or message us via the contact form. Direct support from the toplist team. Most install issues turn out to be a typo in the config file and get sorted in one reply.
